To oil the gears on his newly announced film The Reprisalizer, comedy auteur Matthew Holness has created a series of weathered, imitation dimestore paperbacks seen above, as scrawled by his character, a struggling pulp wash-up named Terry Finch. (Sidenote: Never let a dude named Terry borrow beer money. Great name.) While this is obviously the second fictional hack author played by Holness—seek out Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace if you’re a complete tardy git—Finch will be considerably less a goof, stricken with violent delusions blurring his anti-rudeboy vigilante tales and life. Extra promising is that the project is backed by the super lab known as Warp Films, which produced Marenghi alum Richard Ayoade’s gorgeously gooey Submarine and Ben Wheatley’s upcoming occult hit-man goosebumper Kill List. You might say Warp is really swinging for the Finch. The Reprisalizer is due in 2013.—SWAMI VISIONS

The Replacements - Hold My Life
Totally awesome.
In honour of Halloween …. Zombo, the awesome zombie comic you need to read (that isn’t The Walking Dead). It’s hilarious, wacky and gory in equal measure. Don’t believe me? Here’s a review by Douglas Wolk.
WARREN OATES: ACROSS THE BORDER (1993)
This documentary can be found on the COCKFIGHTER vhs and dvd. Shout out to Anchor Bay! Too legit! Keep that shit out of print!
Yeah, Warren Oates is pretty definitively awesome. However, this is probably (hopefully?) the only time that the words “Hot Video” and “Warren Oates” will be seen in proximity to each other.
